Sr. Production Associate

POSITION: Sr. Production Associate

REPORTING TO: Production Shift Supervisor

The Sr. Production Associate are key members of the Production teams with the following duties.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and operate single function and multi-function machines to process natural health products.
  • Set up equipment to operate according to company and formulation standards and make changes as required.
  • Monitor production conditions and adjust machine settings in accordance with recipes and SOPs.
  • Record production data
  • Verify that each finished item meets the quality standards of the company by observing the size, and shape of each item.
  • React to alarms or malfunctions of the equipment and operate the shut-off switch when necessary.
  • Sanitize all materials and machinery parts at the end of each shift and clean the workspace in accordance with company cleanliness standards.
  • Assist room lead as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduation or GED required.
  • Ability to understand and follow all safety and operating procedures in food production.
  • Knowledge of basic math as well as English reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to read instructions and recipes to assemble ingredients.
  • Experience in food production or industrial kitchen is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance practices is an asset.
  • Ability to work shift work in a production environment.

Maintenance Technician

POSITION: Maintenance Technician

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager

SALARY: Compensation commensurate with education and experience, range $18.00-$25.00

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Permanent - Full Time

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining equipment and facilities in a continuous operations manufacturing environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the equipment and facilities through a structured Preventative Maintenance Program based on Total Productive Maintenance procedures
  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment and utilities
  • Support the changeover of production equipment and training of equipment operators
  • Operate in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) environment around consumable products
  • Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies
  • Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
  • Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement programs and support the deployment to each department
  • Make recommendations and execute the improvement of processes and policies in each rotation
  • Perform other maintenance duties as requested

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highschool graduation or GED required, 2-year related diploma preferred
  • At least 5 years’ experience in equipment repair, maintenance and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment, food manufacturing preferred
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment, electromechanical or controls experience preferred
  • Knowledge of equipment, tools and maintenance practices

Maintenance Technician With 4th Class Power Engineer Qualification

POSITION: Maintenance Technician With 4th Class Power Engineer Qualification

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Permanent - Full Time

LOCATION: Charlottetown, PEI

Our team is growing, and we want to hear from you if you are a Maintenance Technician with a 4th Class PE Qualification.

This Technician will work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and will be a team player that will work well in a team environment or independently to keep all aspects of the production facility and its production equipment well maintained and in good working order. Another important focus of this role is to ensure the continued safe and efficient operation of the organization’s boiler units through regular operational activities, maintenance, and inspection.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Read, interpret, and follow instructions and operation manuals.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Read blueprints and sketches proficiently to fabricate equipment and make modifications.
  • Repair or replace chains; belt conveyors; gear boxes/drive chains; hydraulics & pneumatics; welding/cutting; and using power tools.
  • Ensure the proper operation and functioning of the organization’s boilers and related equipment to provide a safe, healthy and comfortable working environment.
  • Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on boilers and related machinery.
  • Maintain a logbook of daily activities such as operations, maintenance, test results, instrument or computer interface readings and equipment malfunctions.
  • Adjust controls and valves on equipment or computer terminal to regulate boiler operations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Must possess 4th class Stationary Engineer Certification.
  • Experience in a large-scale GMP, meat or food manufacturing/processing environment considered an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience with electrical and HVAC systems
  • Ability to work in a team environment that is committed to working safe, while focused on improving production and maintaining quality.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to work set shift schedule including weekends and work overtime as required.
  • Must be able to wear all required personal protective gear.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.

Cleaner

POSITION: Cleaner

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

SALARY: Compensation commensurate with education and experience

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Permanent - Full Time

LOCATION: Charlottetown, PEI

Our team is growing, and we want to hear from you if you are an experienced cleaner in a production environment.

 

This position will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing general use areas such as bathrooms, lunchrooms, offices and locker rooms as well as production areas and machinery. Some general facility maintenance duties will also be required such as cleaning filters, cleaning walls & ceilings, cleaning machinery, painting, changing lights, yard clean-up, etc.

This position is best suited to someone who is familiar with a production/manufacturing environment, enjoys cleaning, and who can work independently.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Sweep and mop floors using industrial cleaner in select areas
  • Empty trash cans
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, mirrors, doors, walls
  • Clean and dust furniture
  • Clean and restock washrooms
  • Clean and sanitize kitchens
  • Follow procedures for daily COVID-19 cleaning and sanitizing of high touch areas and completion of checklists indicating completion of tasks
  • Advise purchaser when cleaning supplies need to be replenished
  • Pick up garbage on outside of property
  • Shovel snow from sidewalks and apply salt on surface
  • Notify supervisors about unsafe conditions or concerning the need for repairs or maintenance
  • Disinfecting and sanitizing production areas and equipment
  • Work with chemicals and solvents, as well as a variety of specialized tools (scrapers, pressure washers, brushes, etc.) to complete specific cleaning tasks
  • Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Basic computer skills
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Previous commercial or industrial cleaning experience an asset
  • Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written

Quality Control Manager

POSITION: Quality Control Manager

REPORTS TO: Sr. Quality Manager

The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for the Quality Control program. They will lead the QC department ensuring Quality products are delivered to the customer. They will train, coach and lead on the plant floor to ensure Quality standards are met. They will ensure the site is always ‘audit ready’.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Develop, track and improve the Quality scorecard including KPI’s and major initiatives
  • Lead the support of Operations through the Quality Compliance department executing appropriate Quality checks on the plant floor
  • Ensure compliance to Company audit programs (manufacturing practices, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards, maintenance, food safety, etc.) as well as audits required by external parties
  • Liaise with other production departments and coordinate activities relating to Quality
  • Measure and facilitate corrective actions for improving Quality systems which are initiated from holds, process trends and consumer complaint feedback
  • Facilitate training of operators and managers on quality systems and issues
  • Ensure all rework for holds area engaged and completed on time to ensure quality warehouse specifications are maintained
  • Participate fully in the Company’s continuous improvement programs and support deployment to each department
  • Make recommendations and execute for improvements of processes and policies

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years' experience as a Quality Control manager
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in the Food Processing or Pharmaceutical Industry is preferred.
  • Flexible and results-oriented approach to work with multiple and shifting priorities
  • Superior communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization
  • Self-starter, strategic thinking, and customer focused
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage and develop a team
